On 17th December GCSE students took part in a series of exercises including creating advertising campaigns for their hotels, performing radio dramas on the theme of spooky hotel, taking part in a choreographed ‘day in the life of a receptionist with choral speaking and synchronised movement, and developing recipe chants and bespoke menus/place settings for a variety of guests.
Sponsored and funded by the Goethe Institute in London, this was one of my workshops exploring the use of drama and combined arts in language learning. Using original texts and everyday objects, we create scenes and stories to build confidence and encourage the creative use of language.
