Knitting the world. Wall hanging 6′ x 4′ commissioned by A New Direction to show locations of projects and link organisations. This is made entirely of strips and squares in garter stitch sewn to a hessian backing. Key locations are indicated with felted ‘parcel tags’ embroidered with place names.
This map is now housed at the Hornsey Vale Community Centre, Mayfield Road, London N8. it was donated by A New Direction and hangs in one of the meeting rooms, brightening our spirits and improving the acoustics! Come and have a look if you’re in the area.
